San Diego-built CB750 with stripped-back, SoCal style
Seaweed & Gravel is a surf and vintage motorcycle shop based in Leucadia, California. They recently popped up on our radar, and we’ve got to say—we dig their style. A few of their previous builds have earned some notoriety, including their CB550 Little Bastard, which landed the cover of Cafe Racer Italia. But when we saw their 1973 Honda CB750 Babe Blue, a beautifully executed Honda CB750 cafe racer, we knew we needed a closer look.

This build is a collaboration between S&G and Brady Young and took over a year to complete. A ton of custom work went into it, and the attention to detail is clear throughout. The inverted forks and wire wheels paired with a stripped-down frame give it a clean, compact stance. But Babe Blue’s pièce de résistance? The minimalist seat and concealed oil tank—sleek, functional, and perfectly executed.

Seaweed & Gravel describes themselves as “a retail extension of the collective conscious of non-conforming-never-grow-up weirdos. New and vintage apparel, surfboards, custom & vintage motorcycles, boots, bonsai trees, and more…” Being SoCal locals ourselves, we get it. Bonsai trees might not be our thing, but we respect the aesthetic and attention to detail, just like this cleanly built Honda CB750 cafe racer.
