A little ways back, California based retro helmet accessory maker, The Equilibrialist came out with a custom helmet and “maska” kit and we fell in love. It was based on an off-white Biltwell Gringo helmet, paired with their “Knox Maska” and was hand-painted with some killer minimalist striped across the bottom of the lid. The first round was so successful they sold out right away and I missed my chance to snag one. Well, I guess I’m in luck again as they just dropped a new black version and I know to not wait too long this time around.
As with its predecessor, the Nero Linea’s design was inspired by their brand’s motto of “Nulla Dies Sine Linea”, which translates to “draw a line every day”. In essence, the implied message is to do something creative every day, even on a small scale. This motto translates into a set of white horizontal lines that partially run across the helmet with a single red line at the bottom. Not sure if it’s the simple design, or the fact that they’re hand painted and limited edition, but know this is a helmet that I’d love to add to the collection.
