Bullitt OG takes 3rd in Pipeburn's 2015 Bike of the Year top 10

We were more than honored to be featured on Pipeburn last August but were absolutely blown away to learn that our very own Bullitt OG took the No. 3 spot on their '2015 Bike of the Year' Awards. In order to determine results, the Pipburn crew revisited every bike they shared throughout the year (approximately 180 posts) to count and re-read comments, tally Facebook likes and whip out their trusty "awesome-o-meter" to come up with their top 10 bikes for 2015.

Ducati draXter concept

More like "high speed excitement"

The Ducati brand has virtually always been synonymous with high-performance sport bikes. Last year they took a big turn with their Scrambler line, opening themselves to a new audience and a new way of thinking. A little less focus on hp and torque, and a little more focus on riding for the sheer enjoyment of riding. This year Ducati is going yet another direction, entering the cruiser market with their new XDiavel.

The XDiavel is Ducati’s first true cruiser with forward foot controls, a massive (240) rear tire and a torque delivery that focuses on “low speed excitement”, meaning all of the torque is delivered at 5k rpm. Today Ducati broke the news of a new concept bike to come straight out of their Style Center's Advanced Design area; the new draXter. It’s a beefed up version of the XDiavel, equipped with top-notch components straight off their superbikes, set up as a purpose-built dragster.

Just look at that rear tire!

The draxter is on display at the Motor Bike Expo of Verona January 22-24. Just dropping today online, it’s clear that this bike has gotten a lot of people excited. What are your thoughts? Is this a bike you’d like in your garage?

Triumph Rocket III - Cheeky commercial

It's easy for advertisers to take themselves, and their products, too seriously at times. On the contrary, when advertisers try to get too loose, it usually comes of awkward and contrived. Every now and then a brand gets it right, and in this 2007 video promoting the Triumph Rocket III, we think is one of those cases. Sure, it's a bit cheesy, and...British, but still fun.

Triumph has taken a very light-hearted approach, starting off the bit with; "Ever since the dawn of time Triumph have been producing large powerful motorbikes in their Hinckley factory near Leicester. With over 900 years of motorbike building prowess behind them Triumph have created two wheeled motorbike classics." The entire video has a similar tone, talking about fun being absorbed by osmosis and testing needs to be accompanied by banjo music for safety purposes.

While I can't confirm confidently that this was put out by Hinkley directly (though the YouTube poster does), I can say that if it was, my hat's off to them!

Bikes & Bikinis

You really can't go wrong with bikini clad girls and motorcycles - especially when both the models and the bikes are stunners. A few years back, Southern California lifestyle brand Tavik did a photoshoot with Jason Lee Parry that we featured with a sexy girl hitching a ride with biker on an old chopper. They're back at it again, this time with photographer Jose Gallina and a shiny new MV Agusta. Not much more to be said here, just sit back, relax and enjoy the photos.
