Back when we posted on the full face ‘Bullitt’ concept helmet by Chad Lodge we got a ton of excitement on the site here.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like that one has made it into any real production yet, but our friends at Biltwell are sacking up and putting out their own DOT approved full face bucket.

At the time of this article, the actual Gringo hadn’t been released yet. All we could find was the image of the shell above and Mike D from Biltwell teased us all saying, “Here’s another sneak peek of our “Gringo” full face helmet. This is the actual shell—not a solid sample mockup as featured in earlier teasers. Yes it will be DOT. Yes it will have snaps for a flat screen and yes those snaps will also accept classic MX visors and Biltwell bubble shields if that’s your thing. Expect availability in early 2013 in XS through XXL sizes. Colors TBD.”

It’d be great to see some mouth vents like this old Thompson helmet. Either way, we’re in!

*Update*
